The History of Facial Treatments by Lynn took 65 years in the making. Coming from a long line of Hairstylists and Hair Sculptures, she wanted to be a cosmetologist since she was three. Aunt Mary, who lived right behind her on Arch Street, was a successful business woman and had a beauty salon for over 30 years. The shop was located on her back porch; there was much camaraderie, shaping, permanents, and hairstyling going on.
Back in 1953 Lynn picked up hair clips from the floor, swept up hair, and played with Aunt Mary’s tools. She still remembers trying to place the perm rods in her doll’s hair. Lynn fell in love with the beauty business at age three, continuing to cut and style all her dolls’ hair.
In 1968, she entered the Alliance Beauty School between her junior and senior year of high school. She found that Cosmetology was fast paced and utilized her creativity and communication skills. Working in a variety of shops after obtaining her license, she found that she could explain procedures and had the patience to teach cosmetology. She enrolled at Kent State University to start working on her Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education. She mastered how to break down procedures that students could understand and build into their careers.
As she taught vocational Cosmetology, she fell in love with facial treatment. She continued to study more and more on the systems of the body and how, with using the proper products, tools and manipulation, one could renew skin collagen. During that time, she became interested in facials and dreamed of setting up a facial business.
In September of 2013, Lynn opened Facial Treatments by Lynn after 35 years in education and a wide variety of educational experience in Cosmetology, Instructor of Cosmetology, Supervisor, and Director of Cosmetology school.
Lynn completed certification for the State Board of Cosmetology to open her business as an Independent Contractor. She became a consultant for Beauti Control in the year 2000 with Spa Product certification in Microdermabrasion, PowerDerm Abrasion, and Ciradia by Dr. Pugliese.
She continues to attend courses to update her skills and learn about the variety of new products, tools, and procedures. She provides a relaxing atmosphere of facial massage that soothes the mind and body, uses the latest tools and products to eliminate impurities, and detoxes the skin to improve balance and elasticity. She also specializes in helping to free skin of wrinkles and dark spots. She has struggled with acne as a teen till age 25 and has helped numerous teens calm their acne and take care of their skin.
